Built from experience, guided by fit.
Our story
True Partner Saddlery began with a simple belief: a saddle should work in harmony with both horse and rider. After decades in the saddle and thousands of trail competition miles (12,000 for Debbie and 6,000 for Mark) I saw firsthand how poor fit limits movement, creates discomfort, and compromises performance. What started as a pursuit of a better endurance saddle became a commitment to building multiple styles of Western Bar saddles that support soundness, proper fit and long-term comfort for the horse and rider.
Every True Partner saddle begins with careful measurement—not guesswork. By studying shoulder angle, back shape, and rider position, each build is grounded in a solid tree designed for stability and freedom of movement. The goal is not just comfort in the moment, but a saddle that allows horse and rider to move naturally together, whether on long-distance rides, pleasure trail miles or the arena!.
Today, True Partner Saddlery continues to blend traditional construction with a thoughtful, process-driven approach to fit. Using premium materials and time-tested methods, each saddle is crafted to perform in real-world conditions. The result is a saddle built not just to last, but to support the partnership that matters most: the one between horse and rider.
Tack chosen with care
At True Partner Saddlery, we select tack with the same care and purpose that guide our saddle builds. Every piece is chosen to support proper fit, balance, and freedom of movement, ensuring it works with, not against, the horse and rider. From pads and rigging to straps and hardware, we prioritize materials, construction, and function over trends, focusing on equipment that performs reliably in real-world conditions. The goal is simple: cohesive tack that complements the saddle’s fit and helps maintain comfort and alignment mile after mile.
“…the trust I have in True Partner Saddlery is immense! We share the same philosophy of "the horse comes first." I felt confident in my choice of using Mark and his team to build my dream saddle.”
